From the very earliest of ages, from the time she could hold a brush, Matea always had a passion to draw and has stayed ever with her ever since. 

Being born and raised in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia , then having moved to Canada and eventually settling in the U.S, along with having been fortunate  to have extensively traveled, Matea has taken in the vastness of the experiences and over the year intergraded in to her art.

Having been inspired by the likeness of Gustav Klimt and the intricacy of the Art Nouveaux movement, Matea’s current work heavily reflects the elements in her art giving it a modern twist and interesting conceptual ideas to ponder. There is a fascination with the obscure and bringing the daily to be viewed and interpreted in an entirely new way. With bold and unapologetic color and play with the juxtapose.

It was not surprising to anyone that knows her that she would go on to choose to artistic in pursuit of a career . She went on to graduated from VCU, earning a BFA

Since that time, and away from the confinements of art school , Matea’s style further evolved in to something that was her very own.  From there her utterly unique and whimsy custom pet portraits gained popularity  and accumulated a large collection, added to her portfolio are   also unique custom house paintings as well as portraits .

Currently her art has been collected all over the world, including Hawaii, Australia and parts of Asia.
